StimuliApp is provided by Rafael Marín as a free application.

This Privacy Policy explains how the app handles data, including what is collected, how it is used, and how it is protected.

By using the app, you agree to the practices described in this policy.

1. Overview

StimuliApp is designed for displaying visual stimuli and running psychophysics experiments.

We respect user privacy and limit data use to what is strictly necessary for the app’s functionality.

The app does not collect personally identifiable information unless explicitly provided by the user for optional features (see Section 5).

2. Face Data and TrueDepth API

StimuliApp uses Apple’s TrueDepth API exclusively to:

  • Detect the orientation and position of the user’s face
  • Estimate the user’s distance to the screen during tasks

All TrueDepth processing occurs entirely on the device and solely in real time.

StimuliApp does NOT:

  • Capture or store face images
  • Store or transmit depth maps
  • Collect, store, or process biometric identifiers
  • Share face-related data with third parties

No face data ever leaves the device.

3. Data Storage

  • The app does not store any data obtained via the TrueDepth API.
  • Face-related information is processed only temporarily and is deleted immediately after use.
  • If the user optionally enters a name or email (see Section 5), it is stored only on the device and never uploaded or transmitted to the developer.

4. Third-Party Sharing

StimuliApp does not share any user data—face data, experimental data, device information, or optional user inputs—with any third party.

5. Information Collection and Use (Optional Features)

For certain features—such as sending a report of completed tests—the app may request:

  • A user name
  • An email address

This information:

  • Is entered manually by the user
  • Is stored only on the user’s device
  • Is not collected or accessed by the developer
  • Is used exclusively to generate and send reports to the email address chosen by the user

StimuliApp does not track, profile, or collect any personally identifiable user information beyond this optional use.
